whitening gel retained in 2 thin thermoforming trays (1 upper –
1 lower) that are worn over the teeth for only 15-30 minutes per day

As the whitening gel acts upon the stains, it oxidizes
them to a white color. Crowns, bridges, bonding and fillings do not
lighten.
A small dab of whitening gel in the frontal portion
of the trays for each exposed tooth when smiling (no need to whiten
unexposed teeth) and trimming the thermoforming trays at the gingival
line (where tooth and gum come together) with small scissors will
control any waste and prevent exposing soft tissue to the process.
